Canadians4Compassion: An All Charter Meeting

Date of Event:

Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - 6:00am to 7:30am

Location:

Seattle, WA, USA Pacific Standard Time

Currently Canada has close to 500 Charter members, 15 compassionate community initiatives from Brandford and Calgary to Victoria and Winnipeg. In addition, there are over 60 partners supporting these initiatives. This call is an opportunity to hear what is working for Canadians4Compassion and a brainstorming of how to attract more community initiatives cross the nation.

Jim Tolbert and Kim MacAuley from Waves of Compassion in Halifax will discuss how Waves has become a community-based initiative in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). In June 2012, the network chose to call their initiative “Waves of Compassion." In September 2012 their Vision, Mission and Goals were endorsed. The network has grown to 135 contacts, which reflect diverse cultural and spiritual traditions and a wide range of community sectors. Waves recently received their non-profit status.

There will also be a sharing session on other positive stories and an opportunity to explore current partners and community organizers can be mentors to new initiatives.
